This began as a watercolor-on-bristol test and quickly evolved into much more. I worked all through the night to finish this - I couldn't stop myself!

A young wolf stops for a drink along his long journey home. He's homesick =*(
9"x12" watercolor and colored pencil on bristol.
The original for sale - send a note with an offer.

Wow, this is fabulous! I really admire your skill with texture, as seen on his amazingly realistic fur. The sharp detail of his fur is a wonderful contrast to the soft, painterly background. The combination is beautiful and striking- Very well done! Everything about this looks awesome. I especially like the life in his eyes and, as I said, the awesome fur texture.
You have some awesome artwork. I love the pose, and the texture, and the shapes and values. You should do an art trade with me.

Some people have issues.... I have a damned subscription
Thank you. Blue and orange are my new favorite complimentary colors. ^^

The water was a learning experience, too - now I know what to do and not do next time.
Just grab a Crayola watercolor set (That's what I used for this, believe it or not!) from a local craft store and go crazy! If you're having trouble with buckling/warping, try some heavier paper and/or taping the paper to a board or something. Watercolor paper works pretty good too.

Some people use a lot of water, some just a little, some work fast, some work slow - watercolor is just so versatile that you have to find your own little style that's fun for you! I beg you keep trying and you'll get better in no time. ^^
